Typically we see videos playing upside down if they were filmed on a mobile device. Some phones have a right-side-up orientation. This means even if the playback on your phone looks correctly oriented, it will have been saved as a video that was shot upside-down.

The good news is the fix is easy!

  • Simply move your video to your computer and open the file in a video editing program. (Most computers come with free video editing software like Movie Maker for Windows or iMovie for Macs.) You can use any video editing software you want.

  • No need to do any editing! Just export and save your video with a different name to your computer and re-upload to Smashcut.

Now your videos should play back right-side-up.
