Typically we see videos playing upside down if they were filmed on a mobile device. Some phones have a right-side-up orientation. This means even if the playback on your phone looks correctly oriented, it will have been saved as a video that was shot upside-down.

The good news is the fix is easy!
Simply move your video to your computer and open the file in a video editing program. (Most computers come with free video editing software like Movie Maker for Windows or iMovie for Macs.) You can use any video editing software you want.
No need to do any editing! Just export and save your video with a different name to your computer and re-upload to Smashcut.
Now your videos should play back right-side-up.
